Michael was awarded the Ramon Kelly scholarship to The Arts Students League of Denver at age seventeen, where he furthered his study in all areas of art under the tutelage of such well-known artists as Quang Ho, Jerry De La Cruz, Dale Chisman, Kim English, and a number of surrounding artists such as Mark Travis, Darrell Anderson, John Howe, and many others. He does a variety of mediums and topics, usually dealing with the human form and abstract impressionism. One thing that is impossible to deny is that Michael's work insists you get emotionally involved with it's subjects and is strongly re-enforced with precise execution. Michael has also 1812had great success in the graphic design field. Doing everything from modest graphics and apparel for local businesses and events like the Black Arts Festival, Cinco De Mayo, and freelance clients, to worldwide distributed designs for companies such as Reebok, Warner Bros. The Olympics, and Fila to name a few.

Presently Michael has been working on new bodies of work that express his current state of being, revisiting traditional methods with timeless interactive emotions for the viewer. He is currently enjoying doing freelance design for people, companies and causes in Boulder, CO. Some of his latest works have been for charities. Including BOHO (Boulder Outreach for Homeless Overflow), Boulder Rights Watch and Efaa. With fine art shows at The Dairy Arts Center and The NoBo 7th Annual Anniversary, Michael already has his focus higher to bring his brand of flavor into the community with live events and large art show collaborations on the agenda. "I'm proud to have designed the temporary logo for UPSWYNG. A navigating app for the  homeless helping them find where shelter is available for the night and other resources."

Recently I have been involved with the NoBo Arts District. Had two great shows at Salt of the Earth, and I look forward to doing more shows and projects in the community.
